The process of getting veneers will usually be spread out over a few different appointments:
The Initial Consultation
At your consultation, we will use our 3D digital scanner to take detailed images of your teeth. We will also use our Digital Smile Design technology to show you what your smile may look like after treatment. This initial appointment is a great time to discuss what you like and dislike about your teeth and how we can help you.
The Prepping Stage
This appointment involves prepping your teeth for veneer placement. To do so, we trim a thin enamel layer (typically less than 0.5 mm). Then, we collect new imaging of the prepped teeth and place temporary veneers. Over the following three to four weeks, we will produce your custom-fitted veneers in our cosmetic dental lab.
Veneer Placement
Once your veneers are ready, we will place them using dental cement. We will also fit you with a night guard, so you do not damage your veneers during sleep. After this appointment, you will have a revitalized smile. Most patients feel fully comfortable with their new teeth about two weeks after the final appointment.
Signs You Are a Good Candidate for Dental Veneers
You could be a good candidate for dental veneers if you:
- Are concerned about one or more cosmetic dental issues, such as stains, extensive discoloration, and chips or cracks that have left teeth misshapen.
